I contacted Auto Lenders about a particular vehicle listed on cars.com. I was greated with a text. The vehicle is available. How would you be paying. Cash or finance. The price is $14.495 The car is Black on Black (this important will refer back later) My response is if the price comes down please let me know this is out of my price range. AT what price would you consider purchasing the vehicle? It depends on the back end fees is my response. There are NO additional fees tax tags and MV that's it. Thanks but the car is out of my price range is my response twice.

A day later I am contacted by another salesman. We haggle a bit about price, What is a middle number we can work at. I give him the number...he agrees on base price with additional fees far greater than just tax, tags and mv fees. Quite different from the response I received from Matt on my first inquiry. My salesman Anthony tells me he is off the next day and we set up an appointment for the following day. Now keep in mind there is an option on there website that lets you reserve a vehicle for a test drive of which I was not aware that supposedly holds the vehicle for you.. So I feel the price has pretty much been negotiated and will deal with the fee questions when I have had a chance to test drive and check out the vehicle. I even ask about putting down a small deposit and was told it was against company policy. Anthony my salesman is absent the next day.

Upon his return I receive a text telling me the vehicle in question has been sold. This salesman is not working that day so I loose the car. Nice going. I express my outrage and receive a text a short while later telling me there was a clerical error and the car had NOT been sold after all. He had checked on the wrong one. I'll get the coupe here for you. Get it for me?..it was listed as being at the Princeton location where was it coming from?. Bold face lie. The vehicle in question had in deed been sold. I guess the day Anthony was off....The car which he insisted was the car I had originally inquired about has a different interior color. Agree upon price? Again Bogus .They never had any intention of honoring it. I had asked that my time NOT be wasted as I was dealing with a seriously ill relative and had serious intentions of purchasing the vehicle. To make matters worse the alternative vehicle was dirty outside with a scrape on the front and dirty wheels. The salesman called our negotiations a misunderstanding. There was no misunderstanding. They lied period. I have it all on my phone.

They tried to talk me down to a lower trim level- everything in the book. And how I was getting this great deal even at 2-3 grand more..They caused me much stress as I was willing to purchase a car I wasnt overly thrilled with anyway at the price we had agreed upon. The bottom line. This dealership is no different than any other. Say anything to get a sale. They will get you there under false pretenses. Nothing new I guess for a used car dealership...but all the glowing reviews I question. I wouldnt recommend Auto Lenders to anyone unless you are prepared to pay there list price plus a couple thousand in back end fees. But hey there a used car dealership right? Someones got to pay for that over head. Dont let it be you.

Reason of review: deception.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

Auto Lenders Pros: Look of the showroom.

Auto Lenders Cons: Deception.

Location: Elizabeth, New Jersey

Hey Thanks, Most car dealerships are crooks to begin with. Your at their mercy most of the time unless you have the money, They all try to scam you nickel and dime you for everything.

Sell you POS for way to much money. and Give you *** money for your trade in.

Yet they resell it at a much higher amount than they give you.. Oh your car's only worth $1,000.00, yet they resell it for $3,000.00.

All true!! They lie and strong hold you into *** cars.

They straight lied to my face. They kept my car for 3 days and did NOTHHING it wasnt even cleaned.

They didn't put mats in the car. The cruise control doesn't work and the car has a huge scratch on it
